Philip Goldstein - Managing Director and Senior Consultant
Philip established the MacPeople brand in 1993 and has over 30 years of recruitment industry experience.
He is responsible for strategic planning, new business development, executive placement and generally supporting and guiding the activities of the recruitment team. He is currently focused on guiding the development of our growing Sustainability and Environment practice.
Philip has recruited for Executive, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Engineering, Marketing, Communication and Sales, Sustainability and Environment, Advertising and Creative and has managed large scale business support recruitment contracts for many major clients.
Emily Harris - Temporary/Contract Specialist
Emily specialises in the placement of temporary and contract staff for account service, creative, studio, web and IT.
Following a stint as a picture editor in the publishing industry, Emily chose to focus on a career in recruitment and has successfully transitioned into HR where she has found her niche.
Emily had two years with Xpand IT, recruiting web and interactive professionals, programmers and software engineers. Melding this experience with her passions, Emily moved into the creative recruitment space in 2007 and has been with MacPeople since 2008.
She has managed major creative accounts for corporates and worked with a wide range of advertising, publishing and design industry clients.
Carl Nicholls - Marketing, Communications and Design
Carl has worked for over 16 years as Marketing Manager, Graphic Designer, Mac Operator and Studio Manager for corporate, advertising, publishing and design companies.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Carl relocated to Australia under a sponsorship from a Sydney-based advertising agency. He continued his involvement in the creative sector until 2005 when he was offered an opportunity to work in the recruitment industry and has very successfully transitioned into the human resources sector.
Leveraging his considerable experience in the creative environment, Carl specialises in creative placements for print, web and interactive opportunities.
Carl's wit and repartee are never far from the surface and when he's not shackled to the desk you will probably find him competing for a round ball with 21 other ageing soccer players.
Simon Thomas - Online and Interactive Specialist
Simon is our resident, online and interactive specialist consultant. With 6 years as a professional graphic designer following an undergraduate design degree and Postgraduate course from London University, Simon went on to complete a Masters Degree in Digital Media in the mid nineties. He worked as a designer/developer for 4 years and as a Senior Producer with a Sydney digital media agency where he won several AIMIA awards. Simon also has specialist eLearning experience.
Simon provides support to our team in the technical aspects of any of the roles on which we work. This can include role and skills definition, candidate evaluation, portfolio review and talent sourcing.
Karen Walters - Creative, Account Service & Studio
Karen's recruitment career began in 1998 in Toowoomba and she has worked across a wide range of white collar recruitment sectors in both Queensland and NSW.
More recently, Karen trained as a graphic designer and leverages her design abilities recruiting creative talent for our clients. Karen has been with MacPeople for over 4 years and she works across account service, creative, studio and web roles.
With experience managing, 'Blue Chip' accounts, running group assessments and sitting on interview panels for 'top 100' companies and public sector departments, Karen has well rounded HR experience.
Karen's sparkling personality and infectious enthusiasm are always evident and she never allows the challenges of our industry to dull her sense of humour and zest for life.
Cheyne Burns - Support, Design & Web
Cheyne joined the ranks at MacPeople in 2007. His wide range of skills significantly enhances our in-house support capability and he is a key player in both recruitment resourcing and marketing support.
Recently completing the Diploma in Graphic Design and Advertising, Cheyne chases down any opportunity for internal design work and handles the bulk of our print and web needs - designing marketing and event collateral, coding digital communication pieces, email newsletters and banners, updating our website and much more. In addition, Cheyne looks after our IT troubleshooting needs and provides our consultants with a range of support for their recruitment activities.
Marie Christopher - Financial Controller
With over 8 years at Future Prospects Marie has intimate knowledge of our business, our client base and our candidates. She is an integral member of our team and her input on a range of business matters is highly valued.
Marie should be your first point of contact for accounting, payroll, taxation or superannuation issues.
Marie holds the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and is a member of the National Institute of Accountants.
